Cheryl A. Miller, is an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine Sioux Tribe, in Poplar, Montana. Ms. Miller has a Masters in Legal Studies with an emphasis in Indigenous Law and federal Indian Law, from The University of Oklahoma College of Law.
Ms. Miller has always had a passion for working with Native Children and their families and has been fortunate to work directly with the Suquamish, Puyallup, Skokomish and Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribes and their families, including serving on the Local Indian Child Welfare Committee (LICWAC) as former chairperson and committee member.
Some of her professional history includes Indian Child Welfare Compliance Program Manager for the Department of Children & Family Services, Region 5, Washington State, Director of Tuwaduq Family Services, Skokomish Tribe, and is the Director of Children & Family Services for the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, a position she has been in since 2012.
In addition to paid experience, Ms. Miller has served on the following boards: Kitsap Mental Health, United Way of Mason County and the Human Services Board for Olympic College and currently serves as a Gubernatorial appointed trustee on the Olympic College Board of Trustees. She was recently appointed and sworn into the Advisory Council to Support Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Council for the Administration of Community Living.
