Zephryn Conte, is a Master Teacher, Performing Artist, Published Educational Author, Composer and Poet and a seasoned Music and Theatrical Producer and Director. For over 10 years, she has served as Training Specialist for the Gila River Indian Community's Employment & Training Department, a position she deeply values because of the many friends she has made and experiences she has been enriched by. As a native Bostonian, much of Zephryn's early professional life was in NYC where she developed, authored and facilitated 2 pioneering arts education programs (City Center Theater's NYC Educational Outreach Program “The Road to City Center”; National Endowment For The Arts/US Justice Dept.'s National Training initiative “The ART in Peacemaking”) serving as lead trainer for multi-year US training initiatives and delivering training to 10 national sites, including Arizona. It was then that Zephryn fell in love with the land and the desert and mountains of her now home of 20 years. Additionally, Zephryn is regarded as a Subject Matter Expert in the field of conflict resolution, inter-group relations and cultural competence - having facilitated and managed 5 national sites, for 10 years (including Arizona), of "The Resolving Conflict Creatively Program" in K-12 schools. Currently in addition to her work at Gila River, Zephryn performs musically and offers private instruction in: YOUR VOICE Vocal & Performance Coaching; Breathing/Relaxation techniques and is a published Composer/Producer with background music in feature films and TV; her own songs appearing on Apple Music/Spotify, etc. (search ZEPHRYN). Zephryn has been nominated for 2 Arizona Governor’s Awards in Arts Education and is delighted to bring a sample of her Musical Soul Journeys experience to the NAWC!
